It is amazing that over my three week Christmas break I found plenty of time to check this blog, but wouldn't put in any effort to post. So it is now 1:30am on Jan. 9 and the second semester begins, well...today, so what better time to make up for wasted time.
I always enter a new semester with caution. Am I actually going to have to study and pay attention this time? Will my classes be challanging for a change? I sure hope not, and as I am finding out as an education major, not likely.
My break started out rather action-packed. Nate came to town and kept me company at my apartment for a couple days, hanging out with Jon and Ben and Michal and other friends of his from B-town. Part of his reason for coming was to join Jon and me as we spent a week in Florida (possibly making the last trek from here to there). Our week included a Christmas open-house, March of the Penguins and various other flicks, and of course the much anticipated Crum Bowl 2K5. On the afternoon of our depature home, the Crum children present (and Kalie) battled it out on the gridiron in a match that forshadowed this year's Rose Bowl, that is to say it was a great game. I (as to be expected) was all-time QB/referee/brawl-breaker-uper. The game was full of excitement as momentum was constantly moving from one team to the other. I can't remember who was on whose teams, but let's just say the QB was awesome and Jesse (decked out in his "Twismas" "Tolts" uniform) flashed a preview of future dominance, catching Touchdowns and dominating the trash talk. The game had to be decided in overtime, and as our culture likes to say, "we were all winners!!"
Back in Bloomington the year came to a quiet close, Nate left on the 31st, and the New Year was brought in with a few friends. The past two weeks have been relaxing, I've worked a bit, enjoyed the unseasonably warm temperatures (66 degrees a couple of days) and now it's time to do the student thing for another 16 weeks.
While plans for Spring Break are still in limbo, I anticipate a trip to Baltimore to visit the family in their new and improved locale. But for now, I must bid you all good night.
GO COLTS!!
